Christian Planko was born in Velbert, North Rhine-Westphalia, in 1981. Following his training as a chef in the legendary Düsseldorf restaurant Victorian, he worked in Berlin and St. Moritz – in renowned restaurants such as Joachim Wissler’s Vendôme and Berthold Bühler’s »Résidence«. Later, he cooked in Hamburg, at the Atlantic Hotel Hamburg, before opening the Oechsle in 2019.
